Journey ('Engeyum Eppodhum' in tamil) is the sweetest film i've seen in a long time.The narration just kept me engaged through out.The two Love stories in the film are very cute and memorable.with so many funny moments in between both of them were mesmerizing.still cant decide which one is better.cant get them out of my mind.Four Lead's Jai, Anjali, Sharwanand and Ananya excelled in their roles.Especially Anjali puts up a wonderful performance once again.Jai who plays an innocent youth is the show-stealer.Sharwanand is very apt.Ananya is impressive in a role of a innocent girl who comes form village to city for an interview and trusts no one.I simply adore her role and way it is done.
Director managed to create interest right from the beginning with a very few character's.He did his job very well.He crafted the film to the perfection.The Accident scene which is the dramatic axis of the film, its emotional core is focused on the characters very well.The audience will get the definitive true version of it at the end.Even the Background Sounds during that scene are very engaging n realistic.VFX in that particular scene is worth mentioning.Making That scene play in parts in between the narration and full scene in the climax is a very good attempt.That made interest last till the end.An sweet love story between a boy and girl in the bus and a father who is travelling all the way from dubai to see her daughter for the very first time are very good.
Music in the film is very pleasant and joyful.Though it's a dubbed film lyrics are written very well and they match up with the situations very well."Meghama" "Chitti Chitti" and "Neepere teliyaduga" are my Favorites. "Govida" and "Katha Mugisele" are situational.Background score and Re-recording are very good.
On the flip side :
There is nothing much that i can write negative about this film.Every thing falls in right place.But personally i feel it could had a happy ending unlike the actual Tragedy ending (Half Tragedy Technically as other pair Gautham and Amrutha) as most of Telugu Audience doesn't like sad (and also Realistic) Climax.But that differs for person to person and i believe if an viewer can feel the pain then director succeeded in what he attempted."So Called" happy ending is not always necessary.I think Audience will take it in the same perspective.
Bottom Line : Journey is Sensible film with very sweet love stories and narrated in a more realistic & Captivating way.If you like Heart touching films then make sure "Don't Miss this one"
